We know for a fact that babies and dogs bonding together is one of the most adorable moments that everyone would want to see. So it is not surprising anymore that the Internet broke down when Marion Dwyer shared a video and photos of her 17-month old child Jennie taking her Great Dane, Echo for a walk. Their photos and video have been shared by thousands of netizens and have instantly become viral.
But apart from being extremely adorable together, here’s a fact that you should know about Echo. This loving dog is actually partially blind and deaf. Jennie’s mother saved the Echo after her previous owner has threatened to put the dog down. Since Echo became part of the family, she and Jennie instantly connected and formed a close bond.
In an interview, Dwyer has said that Jennie and Echo’s friendship is like that of a sister who is looking out for each other:
‘Echo certainly does look out for her sister Jennie and always makes sure no one gets too close to her.
‘She loves people and will put herself in front of Jennie to be pet first. If a stranger with a dog approaches she will stand or sit in front of Jennie to shield her, but not showing any aggression- just making sure she’s safe.
‘Jennie loves to walk Echo who has learned that Jennie’s pace is a lot slower than mine, which she enjoys as she can do two of her favourite things: sniff things and people-watch.’
Echo has been with her new family since April 2014.
