There are some conflicting stories. The original news report said a neighbor made the call (NBC)
Later reports tell of an 18 year who heard strange noises and made the call/ He had several dogs who where barking furiously, like their might be a prowler on the roof. He collected them in a room and made the emergency call.
Deputies arrived promptly and started looking for the intruder. One of them checked outside, looking for a prowler on the roof, with his flashlight and the routine, but tense, situation took a turn for the hilarious.
As the flashlight scanned the roof, the “prowler on the roof” popped his head up and was exposed.
It seems that in the hurry to collect the dogs and make the call, one family member was overlooked. (No-one is sure how that happened.)
The big dog had discovered a skylight in an upstairs bedroom.
By standing on his hind legs, the huge dog found he could push the skylight open and view the world. The small dogs seemed to take exception, They wanted to look too. They expressed their displeasure at being excluded with some enthusiastic barking.
“We came out and he’s all afraid, thinking there’s a prowler in his house,” department spokesperson Spencer Crum told The Dodo. “Several deputies arrived and went in the house, a couple of others stayed outside to search the exterior.”
Here is the look that cracked them up.
Don’t we wish that all intruder calls could have this kind of ending?
