We can’t help but feel excited to relay the news that Prince Harry and Meghan Markle is adding a new member to their little family, and no, we’re not yet talking about a royal baby, but a royal dog. Metro UK reported last week that the royal couple adopted a black labrador. According to Sally Bedell Smith, Royal biographer, the newly wed royal couple named their dog “Oz.”
Meghan Markle has been vocal about her love for dogs. Prior to deleting her social media accounts, she posted several photos of her and her two dogs Guy and Bogart whom she referred as “my boys.” When Meghan moved to live in Kensington Palace, she also brought with her Guy the beagle. Unfortunately, she had to leave behind Bogart (labrador-shepherd cross) because he is deemed too old to travel. The dog currently lives with Meghan’s friend.
The Royal family in Britain has long been known for having a soft spot for dogs. Over the years, the Queen, Prince Charles, Princess Anne, Prince William, and even the late royals such as Queen Alexandra have their own dogs. Prince William and the Duchess of Cambridge have even included their dog Lupo in their royal portray.
