A dying shelter dog got the sympathy of a big-heartened woman. The woman wanted the dog to feel loved even for just a day, but a miracle happened and you’ll never know what happened next.
This is the story of Jay-Z, a dying shelter dog with her signature sticking-out-tongue. [mas-in-content]
Jay-Z, a chihuahua was a very old, very frail, and very sick pooch. Everyone at a shelter thought she didn’t have much left but when Heather Hayes met Jay-Z, she knew that there was something extraordinary with the senior dog.
Hayes, who has the marketing manager of Asheville Humane Society decided to take home Jay-Z just for the night for the senior dog to experience having a family.
“The staff at the shelter wondered if she was even adoptable because her health was so bad. I said, ‘Let me take her home for a night and if we decide she doesn’t have a quality of life and we have to let her go, I want her to be at a home. ‘At least she’ll feel loved for 24 hours.’”
But that 24 hour has turned into 4 marvellous years. Yes, Jay-Z the supposedly dying shelter dog survived the next day, and the next, and in fact, being loved gave her a second life.
“It is so rewarding to bring home animals who are overlooked and give them a family… She has the most incredible will to live of any animal I’ve ever known.”
“Jay-Z taught me to cherish senior animals, who need love and comfort the most in the final years of their lives. Just like people.”
There are only few people who likes adopting senior dogs, but Heather is really right when she said that senior animals also deserve to be loved and comforted during the final years of their lives. So if you are considering dog adoption, why not just a senior dog and maybe, just like Jay-Z’s story, you’ll also experience a miracle. [the_ad id=”5239″]
