Sometimes people are the worst. A Canadian job seeker was having trouble because of Blue. Apparently a service dog AND a job and dignity is too much to ask for
Then people are the best. A Lowe’s store in Canada hired them both.
They both had jobs, complete with vests. It wasn’t just “bring your dog.’ This was a case of a service dog and a job for the dog too.
Rarely does filling a local vacancy merit a company-wide announcement. But in a moment of humanity and amusement, Lowe’s decided these new employees were too charming to pass on.
“A recent hire is a gentleman that was having difficulty finding employment because of a brain injury and a support dog. So we did what Lowe’s does best: we hired him and outfitted Blue, our customer service canine, with his very own vest!” read the Lowe’s announcement.
Blue got his own name tag, too.
Blue and his owner/colleague are well loved at the local store in Regina, Saskatchewan.
The act of compassion in giving both man and service dog a job is earning praise across the country, and for good reason.
“Way to spread compassion and employment,” wrote one commenter. “Hope other companies follow along with you to help those with special circumstances.”
